The Absinthe Minded Project (A.M.P.) is the brainchild of International Photographer, Musician and Entrepreneur, Damien O’Riley.  Built upon Damien’s passion for implementing new and innovative ideas into his art and business endeavors, the Absinthe Minded Project is guaranteed to be a social media extravaganza and life-changing opportunity for everyone involved.

Never before has the public been invited to watch and be such an integral aspect of a large-scale photography shoot and “reality video-based” project like A.M.P.

What do we mean by large-scale?

We mean it will be noticed. By hundreds of thousands of people around the world...in a variety of ways:

• Streaming video of live and behind-the-scenes from the entire shoot (will be promoted on YouTube, Facebook, various websites and blogs, modeling and photography sites, and a variety of places and locations to get the maximum amount of views
• Handheld personal video cameras, web cams and digital cameras put in the hands of each of the models (and staff!) so they can capture the entire event from their perspective
• Professional HD videographer and commercial/documentary film-maker to video the entire process and shoot
• Interviews and online live “meet-and-greet” where the models will chat with fans and viewers and answer their questions and get exposure and gain new fans and followers
• All the best images will be compiled into a beautiful, hardcover and full-color high quality “coffee table book” for sale 
• The final film will be compiled and edited professionally into a fabulous full-length documentary and will be available inside the book
  

And that’s just the beginning! All the high quality, high definition videos will stay online - forever - and be available to watch and share for years and years to come, meaning they will gain new fans and loyal followers daily as time goes on!




In late 2009, Damien had the rare opportunity to enjoy a bottle of Authentic Vintage French Absinthe - the one with the actual wormwood in it. Having heard of the “Magical Green Fairy Elixir” being relished and praised by such artistic greats as Edgar Allen Poe, Earnest Hemingway, and Johnny Depp - Damien was eager to see if the reality lived up to the hype.

He poured a glass of the licorice-scented elixir, added ice water and sugar and louched it until it became a beautiful milky pearl green, and then sipped it delicately. And then continued to sip until the glass was empty. A full bottle later, he was enamored by the beauty of the Green Muse.

His experience in his exact words:  “I was shocked! My mind cleared, pure inspiration flooded into me and immense ideas for photos and music began to pour into my mind at such speed and power that I wrote and sketched plans down for hours, until my hand went numb.  Needless to say, that first bottle didn’t last long...but the ideas that were triggered from that Absinthe, are beyond anything I have ever attempted to create before.

Until now...that is.”

Now, after over a year of planning...the physical manifestation of those ideas, dreams and inspirations is ready to come to fruition and be shared with the public.

And for the first time, ever...the online world and community will not only get to watch the culmination of the past year of work, but also will get to participate on a truly intimate level - in a variety of ways.

For 7 magical days, Damien O’Riley and his personal team of assistants and videographers...along with 5 hand-chosen models, will descend upon the magical and surreal city of Amsterdam with one goal...to pull those Absinthe-inspired ideas from the mind of Damien, and re-create them one by one. Bring them to life...put them on paper and film so that the world may experience the influence, passion, visions and power of Absinthe and it’s magic.

The result, will be a hardcover photography book to be published in 2012, along with a documentary to be released around the same time.

That by itself, would be a wonderful accomplishment...a book and film showcasing the sometimes wild, sometimes mysterious, but always unique, Absinthe-Inspired visions...

But, Damien and his team are never satisfied with just “Wonderful”...why just create a book, or even a film, when you can create an EVENT?

So, with that in mind, we have decided to make this an interactive event where the audience can participate, and even help inspire and create by contributing their own personal experiences and visions with Absinthe and the Green Fairy Elixir.

The fans can interact with the models and the creative team one-on-one through live streaming chat and webcam feeds, archived video interviews, online chat, interactive forums and mobile phone apps, not to mention behind-the-scenes photos, secrets and videos that no one else gets to access to.

This is truly an event of magnificent proportions!

As Damien likes to say “With enough effort, almost anything can be made to be wonderful. But to truly be godlike, you have to CREATE.  To create something new, is to demonstrate the divinity in humans.”
